Fast diets are typically blamed for their so-called yo-yo effect, meaning that the lost kilograms can be gained back fast. Nevertheless, these diets are quite popular among people with weight issues as they assist the weight loss process and help one lose much weight (up to 5 kg) in a very short period of time.

The following diet promises losing 5 kilograms in only 5 days. The diet plan is simple and it involves eating a vegetable soup along with some other types of food (different for each day). It is recommended to continue eating this soup instead of one of your daily meals in order to prevent regaining the weight you will lose while on the diet.

Fast Vegetable Soup Diet

This fast diet lasts for seven days and it guarantees losing 5 to 6 kilograms.

Vegetable Soup Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 1 head of cabbage (large)
  • 1-2 cans of tomatoes
  • 1 bunch of celery
  • 2 green peppers
  • 6 large green onions or a large red onion
  • 2-3 chopped garlic cloves
  • 1 hot pepper
  • rosemary and tarragon (for flavor)
  • shitake mushrooms (for flavor)
  • ¼ inch piece of kombu seaweed
  • vegetable bouillon (like Bioforce’s Plantaforce)

Preparation:

First, cut all the vegetables listed above into small pieces. Then, sauté in olive oil and cover with water. Allow to boil for about 10 minutes, and then reduce heat and simmer until tender.

Near the end of the cooking, add spices like thyme, oregano, tarragon, rosemary or sage. Also, this is the time to season your soup with salt, pepper, or hot sauce. However, if you are adding vegetable bouillon, it might not be necessary to add any salt.

You can consume this soup whenever you feel hunger throughout the day.

7-Day Diet Plan

First Day

During the first day, you are allowed to eat only different types of fruit, except for bananas. Fruit consumption is allowed in unlimited amounts, and the best choice are fruits which are high in water, like watermelon and cantaloupe.

Consume only the vegetable soup and fruits, and drink water, cranberry juice, or unsweetened tea.

Second Day

You should eat as many vegetables as you like, fresh, cooked, or canned. However, you should avoid the consumption of legumes, like beans, peas and corn. It is recommended that you consume green leafy vegetables. Consume your vegetables together with the soup. Also, you can use spices, but oil is not allowed.

For dinner, have a big baked potato with butter as a reward.

No fruits for you on this day.

Third Day

Fruits and vegetables are both allowed on this day. Eat as many of them as you like. Also, eat as much of the vegetable soup throughout the day. No potatoes on this day.

If you haven’t cheated so far, your weight should be reduced by at least 5-7 pounds.

Fourth Day

Consume up to three bananas throughout the whole day, skim milk and vegetable soup. You can drink as much skim milk as you can. Although both bananas and skim milk are rich in carbohydrates and calories, you will need these nutrients on this day. In fact, your body will require proteins, calcium, potassium and carbohydrates in order to reduce your sweet cravings.

Fifth Day

You should eat your vegetable soup combined with 200g (10-20 ounces) of beef or lamb and 6 fresh tomatoes throughout the day. Do not deep-fry the beef. It is necessary to drink at least 6-8 glasses of water in order to eliminate the uric acid from your body. Consume the vegetable soup at least once.

Possible replacements for the beef or lamb are wheat gluten (seitan), fish, chicken, or adzuki beans.

Sixth Day

Along with the vegetable soup, eat as many vegetables as you like and as many as three beef or lamb steaks. It is recommended that you eat green leafy vegetables, but no baked potatoes on this day.

Consume the vegetable soup at least once.

The beef or lamb can be replaced with chicken, fish, adzuki beans, or wheat gluten (seitan).

Seventh Day

The daily menu is consisted of vegetables, un-sweetened fruits, and whole grain rice or brown rice instead of beef or lamb. Eat as many of these foods as you like. Also, consume the vegetable soup at least once.

By following this diet plan strictly, without cheating, you will have lost 10-17 pounds by the end of the seventh day.

This diet can be repeated for several cycles, but you should make a pause of at least two days before resuming it.

Such eating regimen will help flush out toxins and clean your body of any impurities, thus improving your overall well-being and health.
